Teacher’s ‘extremely graphic’ photos spark investigation

A teacher in Western Australia allegedly gave a memory stick to a student to use that contained “extremely graphic” photos of her and her boyfriend.

It is understood that the teacher, who works at John Tonkin College in Mandurah, warned the student not to click on the photos, which were subsequently viewed and shared on social media.

The student said the teacher then called the parents of the student to apologise.

The Department of Education said the teacher is now being “fully investigated” by an internal committee.

“The matter has been referred to the Education Department’s standards and integrity team,” said a spokeswoman from the Department.

A source at the school told the Mandurah Mail “a few people are in trouble” over the incident, with students being questioned by school staff.
