Do you think the existing teacher selection criteria is sufficient?

The universities should be selecting the top HSC graduates for teaching but it is at the time they graduate from university as a teacher the appropriate standard should have been reached. A person should choose to study a course but should have to meet minimum standards to graduate. If current graduates are not of the appropriate standard the question must be asked "how are they graduating from university". It's to easy to blame the HSC results on their own. Many universities are introducing bridging courses to get around the 3 band 5 HSC requirements that will not change the outcome unless teacher university graduation standards change.
