I am a school counsellor and a lawyer in Queensland and it is my personal my view that as employees principals lack sufficient knowledge of corporate and legal governance to make decisions confidently at work and often feel stressed. The common and statute law is articulated in excellent policies and procedures but knowledge of these is undervalued in the recruitment process for leadership positions in schools.
